These white pelicans dominate this small rocky island in Frank Lake, a Ducks Unlimited Conservation area in southern Alberta. Resting and preening after a successful fishing expedition, they seem oblivious to the chaotic chorus of squawks and calls rising from the neighbouring gulls, shorebirds, and waterfowl.
