In a land that is rugged and inhospitable, marvellous and terrible, scraped and scoured relentlessly by wind, snow and ice, the shaggy musk ox, umingmak to the Inuit, is a prehistoric leftover, that epitomises the resilience, the strength and the tenacity of the inhabitants of the high Arctic barrens. A barren land where the line between survive or perish is tenuous. This is the home of the majestic musk ox.
